About Us

ICM's BACKGROUND...
ICM was started to provide ministry to folks who do not hold membership in a specific
church or congregation, or who do not share religious traditions, but who still want
the "benefit of clergy" for their wedding ceremony [from a real, ordained minister,
not some internet-ordained "fakester"!]. It also is my personal way of providing
community service and outreach to the people of Chicagoland.

MY BACKGROUND
I was a full-time minister serving congregations for 18 years in Minnesota, Wisconsin
and finally in suburban Chicago. While I continue to serve in congregational ministry,
I am primarily a counselor and mediator. I thoroughly enjoy working with couples to
plan their ceremony and then officiate at their wedding, that is, the greatest event of
their lives!

After growing up in the Chicago area, I continued on with school at Concordia
University and graduated with my bachelor's degree. Then it was off for four
academic years of seminary to earn the Master of Divinity degree in St. Louis. I
received my doctorate in pastoral counseling in spring of 2006, shortly after I started
my full-time counseling practice.

I married my beautiful bride in 1987 and we have one daughter. My ladies are
everything to me and my family life is what I cherish most in this world!

I am a member of the International Chaplains Association, the American Association
of Independent Chaplain Ministries and the National Association of Wedding
Ministers, as well as holding membership in a number of professional associations
for counseling and mediation .
